Enough fuel to power a generator until the end of times, but no generator on site.
I would wager they could have paid off a backup generator by now.

I am the Vice Director of the Defense Logistics Agency. We want to provide gas to gas stations in NY and NJ who have power, but no gas. If you can help us get points of contact who can provide locations and phone numbers, we will arrange to get them gas. Contact me at se@dla.mil. Need name, gas station address, and phone number of gas station owner so we can arrange delivery. -- Ted

Northeast energy infrastructure slowly coming back, it will take time but energy, services, business and all the things that makes modern day life will come back. It has happened before but not with the present technology or population AND it will happen again. It's Not the end of the world, Yet. Whatever the size or shape of the vehicle, Produce and ‘Drive’ vehicles with high MPG, are very safe, reliable, have a ‘reasonable’ cost and a good ‘value’ for the money. The price of fuel at the pump is too high! XII/XXII/MMXII!

On a side note, I think power crews are amazing, at least where I live. They work very quickly to restore power and usually have it restored before too long.

Keep up the good work. Thanks to all the line crews from everywhere on your efforts to restore power. Been there, done that and have several T shirts so know what a job that can be.

Knowing they were going to have downed lines, they staged crews, then brought them in after the storm passed. Smart thinking on the utilities' parts. However, it had ZERO to do with FEMA or the Feds.

Who do atheist turn to in times of need? The government? Our prayers should be with all those who suffered loss during Hurricane Sandy. Recovery will continue and lives will be forever affected, especially the mother who had her 2 and 4 year old sons ripped from her by floodwaters and carried away during the storm. Those children haven't been found. It is now the time for prayer and a "coming together" to "heal" the "land" and those living in the storm area affected. It is now time for Christians to reach out with donations to those charities that can make an impact on "restoring" lives in the storm area. It is now time for blood donations to help those who have been injured and are in need. For atheists and non-believers, do whatever it is you do at "times like these".
